Registration Period (years), Order Type (register, transfer or use your own), Registration Date, Domain Expiry Date, Registrar, Next Due Date, First Payment Amount, Recurring Amount, Payment Method, Promotion Code, Subscription ID, Nameservers and Admin Notes.

Registrar commands

If the domain has a connected registrar you can run, from the domain page:

  • Register (with the registrant details) and Transfer
  • Renew
  • Modify Contact Details: owner, admin, technical and billing contacts
  • Get EPP Code
  • Request Delete
  • Enable ID Protection
  • Update Nameservers
  • DNS Records and Child Nameservers

The command you press makes the real call and reports the real result. A failure goes to Pending Module Actions.

Other buttons

  • View Invoices
  • Transfer to Another Client: moves it inside WHBMP only
  • Send Mail using a Domain email template
  • Delete: removes it from WHBMP only. It is not cancelled or released at the registrar.

What clients can do

In their area clients can see their domains and renew them, switch auto renew and registrar lock, reveal the EPP code, change contacts, nameservers and DNS records, add child nameservers and order add-ons, as far as the registrar supports each. Their own errors are always shown generically.

Selling no domains

If you sell software or hosting and no domains, you can take domains out of the way in two steps. Both are on General Settings > Domains.

  1. Stop selling domains. Untick both Allow clients to register domains with you and Allow clients to transfer a domain to you. The domain search page (/domains), the Domains link of the storefront menu, the domain search box on the homepage and the register and transfer choices in the cart go. Domains your clients already have stay: they still see and manage them in their area, you still manage them in the admin, and renewals carry on. Allow clients to use a domain they already own is separate and keeps letting a client type their own domain on a hosting order.
  2. Don't sell domains. Tick it to hide domains everywhere: the Domains and Registrars menus and the Domain Pricing tile of the admin, the Domains tab on a client, the domain parts of Create Order and the product form, the Domains Export report and the dashboard tile, the whole domains section of the client area (menu, dashboard card, pages), the domains of the REST API, and the domain screens of the mobile app. Typing the address of a hidden page gives "not found". Nobody holds the domain permissions while it is on, not even a Super Admin. Untick it and everything comes back as it was.

Don't sell domains cannot be ticked while any domain is still alive, so nobody is cut off from a domain they have. The box is locked, with a note saying how many, while there is a domain that is Active (this includes one just past its expiry date), Suspended, a transfer in progress, or Expired but still inside its grace period (45 days unless Domain Pricing sets another number, none when Grace and Redemption Fees are off). A Pending registration, a domain Expired past its grace period, Cancelled and Transferred Away do not count. Unticking it is always allowed.

Domain ordering rules

General Settings > Domains controls allowing IDN names, blocking domains that are already registered by an active client, auto-renewal on payment, the default contact for automatic registrations, and grace and redemption handling. Expiry reminders go out from the daily automation.
