Finance and Expenses

Finance & Expenses keeps your business money in one place. Install it from Plugins > Add New. It needs WHBMP 2.5.0 or newer for its dashboard cards.

What it shows

• Overview: income and spending this month and this financial year (each compared with last month or last year), tax charged, spending by category, the last six months and the bills still to pay.
• Income: every paid invoice counts as income, tax included, converted at the rate in Settings > Currencies when it is in another currency.
• Dashboard cards: Spent this month, Tax charged this month and Bills overdue. Staff can switch them off in Dashboard Setup.

Expenses

Each expense keeps the amount paid and its value in the main currency (an estimate until you type the real value), a vendor, a category, a receipt (PDF, JPG or PNG up to 5 MB) and, when your tax settings charge tax, the tax inside it.

Vendors

A vendor holds the currency it bills in, its usual category, and whether it charges tax and a commission (with tax on the commission).

Recurring bills

A recurring bill becomes a bill to pay when it falls due, and stays there until you mark it paid with the real date and amount. A daily command books due bills.

Gateway fees

Create a rule per payment gateway. Every completed payment through it has its fee booked as an automatic expense. These are read-only. To recalculate fees for a period run:

php artisan expenses:recalculate-fees --from=2026-01-01 --to=2026-12-31

Mobile app

The plugin also serves the Expenses screens of the WHBMP Admin app. Staff need the expenses permission and an active license.

What it does not do

It has no bank accounts, bank book, transfers or profit and loss report. They were removed on purpose. Tax follows Settings > Tax Configuration and the main currency is your base currency.
