Configurable options
Oct 15, 2026
Configurable options are choices a customer makes when ordering a product: more storage, a control panel license, an operating system for a VPS, a number of mailboxes.
Open Settings > Configurable Options.
Groups and options
Options live in groups. A group is attached to one or more products. Inside a group you add options. Each option has a type:
| Type | Customer sees |
|---|---|
| Dropdown | A list of choices, each with its own price |
| Quantity | A number field, priced per unit |
| Yes / No | A checkbox |
| Text | A free text field |
For each choice you set the price for every billing cycle (the cycles come from Pricing and billing cycles), so an add-on can be priced differently monthly and annually.
Attach to a product
Open the product, go to the Configurable Options tab and tick the groups that should appear on its order form.
What happens when it is ordered
The chosen options are added to the invoice and stored on the service, so the price is renewed with the service. Staff can see and change them on the service page.
Operating system for VPS products
On a VPS product's Module tab you can pick the configurable option that holds the operating system, so the selected OS is sent to the VPS platform when the instance is created.
Tips
- Keep option names short; they print on invoices.
- Use Bulk Price Update (plugin) to change option prices for all services at once.
- Test an order with each option before going live.
