Branding, client area theme and menu
Oct 15, 2026
Logo
- The front-end logo is set in Settings > General Settings > General (also reachable as Settings > Logo & Branding). Upload a PNG, JPG, WebP or GIF up to 2 MB, or paste a URL. It appears in the client area, the storefront, the sign-in pages and the public header.
- The admin area keeps the WHBMP logo. That is fixed.
- The browser icon (favicon) is the WHBMP icon.
Client area theme
Settings > Client Area Theme changes the layout and navigation of the area your customers sign in to (dashboard, services, domains, invoices, tickets). The information shown stays the same.
Two themes are included:
- Classic: a top navigation bar.
- Sidebar: a side navigation.
Pick one and choose an accent colour. Buttons, links and highlights use it, and the shades are adjusted automatically so text stays readable. Leave the colour empty to keep the theme's own blue.
The choice applies to the whole site. More themes are added by copying a theme folder into the themes directory on the server (see Building a theme).
Site menu
Settings > Site Menu is the one menu builder for the client area and for the header of the public pages. Add, reorder and remove items; an item with children becomes a dropdown (one level of nesting). Plugins can add their own entries. The same menu is used by every client area theme.
Two menus
Every item belongs to the Main menu or the Second menu. The second menu is a row of links under the main one, on the public pages and in the client area (in the sidebar theme it is a group under the main links). With no second-menu items there is no second row. On a phone, both menus are in the one menu behind the menu button, the second one after a divider. A child item always stays in its parent's menu.
Built-in links
Plans & Pricing, Domains, Announcements, Knowledgebase, Software, Status and Cart are menu items too, marked Built in. You can rename them, drag them into a new order, move them to the second menu, put them under a dropdown, change who sees them, or remove them. Their address is fixed, and each one only shows while its page exists (Domains only while you sell domains, Software only once software is published, and so on). Your own items come after the built-in links, and Cart stays last unless you move it.
Before login and After login
Each item has one choice, Show:
- Before login: everyone sees it, on the public website and in the customer portal. Tick Hide it from signed-in clients for links like Login and Register.
- After login: only signed-in clients see it, in the customer portal (Dashboard, Services, Invoices).
Editing an item's name or address never moves it. Items made before this choice existed keep showing exactly where they did.
Stay at the top
The Stay at the top box on the Site Menu page has one switch for the main menu and one for the second. A menu that stays at the top remains visible while the page scrolls. It only applies on laptops and larger screens; on phones the menus scroll away with the page. With both on, the second row sticks right under the main one.
Client area address
The client area lives at /client (for example /client/login) until you choose another word. Open Settings > General Settings > Other, type the word you want in Client Area Address (for example app or account) and save. It must be one word of 2 to 30 letters and numbers, with hyphens between words if you like, and it cannot be an address the site already uses (cart, admin, plans, a CMS category or a Page Builder page). Emptying the box goes back to client.
- Old links keep working. Every
/client/...address (emails already sent, bookmarks, links on your own pages) leads to the same page at the new address. Pages are moved for good (a 301 redirect); a form or a background request is sent on with its data (a 308 redirect). - Your menu follows. Site Menu items saved with a full address under the old word are changed to the new one. A link on another website is left alone.
- New emails use the new address. Emails sent before the change still point to
/client/...and still work. - Only the client area moves. The admin area keeps its own address (
ADMIN_PATHin.env), and the payment gateway return and webhook addresses are not under it. - From the server. If you set
CLIENT_PATHin the.envfile, that word is used and the box is locked. Runphp artisan optimize:clearafter changing it. - Moving it again. If you change
apptoaccount, the old/client/...links go to/account/..., but/app/...links from the time in between no longer work, so keep a word you have shared.
Footers
Install the Footer Builder plugin to build a multi-column footer with a logo, address, social links and your own link columns. It keeps two footers, one on each tab of the Footer Builder page:
- Logged-in users: shown at the bottom of the client area, and on the public pages while a client is signed in.
- Logged-out visitors: shown on the storefront, every public page and the sign-in pages to visitors who are not signed in.
If no footer is saved for a visitor, the plain footer stays: your copyright line, the Terms of Service link and the "Powered by WHBMP" link. A footer can be removed to go back to it. The editor for the logged-out footer starts from the logged-in footer, so you only change what differs.
Public pages
- The header menu on public pages (storefront, cart, checkout, documentation, knowledgebase, status) is your Site Menu: the built-in links (Plans & Pricing, Domains, Announcements, Knowledgebase, Software, Status, each only when it has something to show), your own items, and Cart, followed by Login / My account. All of them can be renamed, reordered, moved or removed under Settings > Site Menu.
- The footer is the one for the visitor's sign-in state, as above.
- The storefront at the site root lists your product groups.
- Product groups and single products have direct order links, shown on each product's Links tab.
- Documentation and knowledgebase pages come from the CMS plugin. See Documentation and knowledgebase with the CMS.
