CMS: documentation, knowledgebase, blog and announcements
The CMS plugin gives you a content manager with categories, tags, SEO fields and a full visual editor (TinyMCE). Posts publish at real addresses made from their category path, such as /docs/getting-started/installing-whbmp or /knowledgebase/troubleshooting/dropdowns-stay-open.
Create a category
Open CMS > Categories. Add a name, a slug, an optional parent and a page style:
| Style | Looks like |
|---|---|
| Blog | Cards in 1 to 4 columns, with an optional sidebar of sub-categories, tags and search |
| Announcements | A dated timeline with a month archive |
| Knowledgebase | A search-first help centre with sub-category tiles and article counts |
| Docs | A navigation tree of the whole section on the left, articles on the right |
| Simple list | A plain list |
A sub-category uses its parent's style unless you choose another.
Write a post
- CMS > Posts > New Post.
- Choose the category, a title, a slug, an excerpt and write the body in the editor.
- Add tags, a featured image and the SEO title, description, social image and canonical URL.
- Tick Published and set the date, or save as a draft.
- Tick Requires login to show it only to signed-in clients.
Visitors can filter any category page by tag, month or search words.
When more than one language is switched on, a post (title, excerpt, body and SEO text), a category and a tag have Other Languages tabs. A visitor reading the site in Arabic sees the Arabic text of a post when there is one and the default text otherwise. The address of a post is the same in every language.
Knowledgebase and AI
Published posts under the top-level knowledgebase category are also used to suggest articles on the ticket form and to ground AI-drafted replies. See AI-assisted replies.
Site menu
The public menu only links to a section (Documentation, Knowledgebase, Announcements) once it has a published post.
Reserved addresses
A top-level category cannot use a slug the app already serves (install, order, cart, checkout, client, status, software, addons and your admin path).
Page Builder
A drag-and-drop builder for the pages of your storefront, with a library of hosting-specific sections, a live editor and a gallery of premade pages from the WHBMP store. A published page has the same menu, footer, cart and language and currency switchers as the rest of the store, and loads your Google Tag Manager container automatically. See Page Builder.
Public Status Page
Status Page adds /status, a public page showing component statuses and incident updates without a login. Add components and post incidents from the admin area.
Footer Builder
Build multi-column footers with a logo, address, social links and custom link columns. There are two, on two tabs: one for signed-in clients (the client area, and public pages while they are signed in) and one for visitors who are not signed in (the storefront, every public page and the sign-in pages). With no footer saved for a visitor, the plain footer stays. Footer Builder 1.1.0 needs WHBMP 2.6.0 or newer. See Branding, client area theme and menu.
Google Tag Manager and Ads
Add your Google Tag Manager container ID and Google Ads conversion details on Marketing Tags. WHBMP injects them across the storefront, the client area and every published Page Builder page, and fires a purchase event on the order confirmation page. The admin area is never tracked. Step-by-step setup with Google Analytics 4: Google Analytics and Tag Manager.
