Servers

A server record tells WHBMP where to create hosting accounts. Open Settings > Servers.
Server types
Server types come from plugins:
| Type | Plugin | Default API port |
|---|---|---|
| cPanel/WHM | cPanel/WHM (included) | 2087 |
| DirectAdmin | DirectAdmin (included) | 2222 |
| Plesk | Plesk | 8443 |
| Webuzo | Webuzo | 2005 |
| Namecrane Mail | Namecrane Mail | n/a (reseller API key) |
VPS platforms (Hetzner Cloud, Proxmox VE, Virtualizor) are added the same way but work differently. See VPS and cloud servers.
Add a server
Click Add Server and fill in:
- Server Name: a label for you.
- Hostname and IP Address.
- API Port.
- Username (for cPanel, normally
root) and Password, or an API Token / Key. They are stored encrypted. An API token is the better choice. - Verify SSL Certificate: reject the connection when the server's certificate is not valid. Leave it on for production and use a valid certificate on the panel.
- Status: active, disabled or maintenance.
- Max Accounts (optional).
Then press Test Connection. WHBMP makes a real call and shows exactly what happened.
Create an API token on the server
- cPanel/WHM: in WHM open Development > Manage API Tokens, create a token, and copy it at once.
- DirectAdmin: create a login key in Login Keys with only the permissions WHBMP needs.
Firewall
The WHBMP server must be able to reach the panel's port, and the panel's firewall must allow the WHBMP server's IP. A failed Test Connection with a timeout is almost always a firewall.
Product packages
On a product's Module tab pick the server and a package. The list of packages is loaded live from the server.
Account list and sync
Under Servers the Accounts view lists the accounts on the server. A daily job (servers:sync-accounts) keeps account data in step, and the service page shows disk and bandwidth after a sync.
Several servers per product
A product can use more than one server (server group): new orders go to a server with room, using Max Accounts.
Delete a server
Deleting a server removes its record from WHBMP only. It does not touch the accounts on the real server. Move or terminate the services that use it first, so none are left pointing at a server that no longer exists.
