What if I lose my license signing key?

Your signing key is two files in storage/app/private/licensing/: private.pem and public.pem. Include that folder in your backups.
If you have a backup, restore both files and you are done.
If the key is lost, delete any leftover file in that folder and run php artisan license:generate-keys to make a new pair, then print the new public key. Software that holds your old public key will not accept what your site signs from now on. The check used by the downloadable LicenseClient.php does not depend on the key, so those customers are not affected.
The key is only made when it does not exist. Installing, updating or reactivating Sell License never replaces it.
