Hetzner Cloud

Sell cloud servers that WHBMP builds for you. Each customer order creates a real Hetzner Cloud server through Hetzner's own API, and the customer controls it from their service page.

What it does

• Creates a server when an order is paid, from the server type and operating system you choose on the product.
• Controls it: start, stop, reboot, reinstall the operating system and open the console from the service page.
• Suspends and terminates the server as the invoice and service status change.
• Shows live choices: the product page lists Hetzner's real server types and images.
• Uses a single API token from one Hetzner project, so there is no hostname, port or login to enter.

Setting up

1. In the Hetzner Cloud console, open your project, then Security, then API Tokens, and create a token with read and write access.
2. In WHBMP, go to Settings > Servers, add a server of type Hetzner Cloud and paste the token.
3. Create a product, choose the server type and operating system, and you are selling.

Good to know

• Hetzner generates the root password itself, so the password shown to the customer is the one Hetzner returned.
• Actions on Hetzner run in the background, so a new status may take a few seconds to appear.
• Start with a test project. This module follows Hetzner's published API and has not yet been proven against a production account.
