Sell License turns your WHBMP into a license shop for the software you make. A customer orders and pays, receives a license key, and your software checks that key against your own site.

Install and activate Sell License from Plugins, add your software under License > Software, then create a product of the type Software License.

New Features

  • Software license emails: three emails are added to the Service Email group when Sell License is activated: Software License Welcome Email, Software License Terminated and Software License Plan Changed. Pick them as a product's Welcome, Termination or Upgrade/Downgrade Email.
  • License merge fields: the license key, the licensed domain and the date the license is valid until can be used in every service email.

New Features

  • WordPress plugin licenses switch: a new "I sell WordPress plugin licenses" switch (License > Licensing Manager > Help) controls everything WordPress-specific. It is off by default; while it is off, the WordPress Client menu, the WordPress requirements fields on versions and the WordPress activation and update endpoints are hidden.
  • Access Logs: the license access log has its own page, License > Access Logs, instead of a tab on the Licenses page. Old links to the tab open the new page.

New Features

  • License Style: on a Software License product, switch on what the plan includes. "License with plugins, modules or addons" lets you tick the premium plugins the plan unlocks, and "Bulk license" lets one key work on several sites.
  • Included plugins: a plan's plugins reach every key on that product, so adding a plugin to Pro gives it to every Pro customer. Taking a plugin off a plan only stops new keys from getting it; keys that already have it keep it.
  • WordPress licenses: selling WordPress plugin licenses (1 / 5 / unlimited sites, free staging sites, updates inside wp-admin) is now part of Sell License, so a separate Sell WP License plugin is no longer needed. The client file for each plugin is under License → WordPress Client.

  • Your own license keys: Sell License can now be installed to sell licenses for your own software and WordPress plugins. A signing key is made for your site when you install it.
