Send WhatsApp messages to your clients straight through Meta's WhatsApp Cloud API, with no messaging company in between: a new order, a paid invoice and invoice reminders.

What it does

  • Sends on events: order created, invoice paid and invoice reminders. The reminder can also be sent by hand from an invoice.
  • Uses your approved templates: map each event to the name of a template approved in your Meta account, and WHBMP fills in the details.
  • Talks to Meta directly, so you pay Meta's rates and no one else's.
  • Logs every message with Meta's own error text if it failed, such as an invalid access token or an unapproved template.
  • Test button: send a test and see the real response.

Setting up

  1. In Meta for Developers, set up a WhatsApp Business app and copy your Phone Number ID and Access Token.
  2. In WHBMP, open Plugins > Meta WhatsApp and enter both, plus the template language code.
  3. Enter the template name for each event and turn it on.

Good to know

  • You need your own Meta business account, a verified number and approved templates.
  • Only one WhatsApp provider (MSG91, Twilio or Meta) should be active at a time.
  • Clients need a phone number on file to receive a message.

    Make sure your WHBMP installation has an active license.

    In your WHBMP admin, go to Addons → Browse.

    Find Meta WhatsApp Notifications and click Install, then Activate.

    Open the addon's settings from the Addons page to configure it.

  • Translated screens: The screens of this plugin are available in Spanish, German, French and Arabic, following the language each staff member chooses in the admin portal (and the language of the client for client-facing pages). Arabic is shown right to left.

Notes

  • Translations: The translations are a first draft written by machine. They are part of WHBMP 2.18.0; on an older WHBMP the screens stay in English.
