Namecrane Mail

Sell hosted business email without running a mail server. Namecrane Mail connects WHBMP to the Namecrane CraneMail reseller service, so an Email Hosting product creates a real mail domain for the customer when the order is paid.

What it does

• Creates the mail domain on order, and suspends, unsuspends, upgrades and terminates it as the service changes.
• Plan settings on the product: disk space, maximum email users, domain aliases and user aliases, plus optional extras such as the office suite, online file storage, email archiving (with its years and direction) and spam filtering with SpamExperts.
• Order-time choices: let customers choose extras when they order, and send the new plan to Namecrane when an order or upgrade changes it.
• In the client area: customers see their usage, the DNS and DKIM records they need to set, and can open the spam filter in one click (when the plan includes it).
• Staff actions on the service page: refresh usage and DNS straight from Namecrane, or send the current plan again.
• A login page for each server: every Namecrane Mail server can have its own webmail sign-in address, so customers on different brands or reseller accounts are sent to the right page. Servers without one use your default.

Setting up

1. Get your reseller API key from Namecrane.
2. In WHBMP, go to Settings > Servers, add a server of type Namecrane Mail and paste the key.
3. Create an Email Hosting product, choose the server and set the plan limits.

Good to know

• The key is never written into a message or a log.
• Usage and DNS answers are reused for a short time, so viewing a page is not an API call each time. Staff can refresh them when they need the latest.
• The plugin is free.
