Products and product groups
Oct 15, 2026
Everything you sell is a product inside a product group. Groups are the pages and sections of your storefront. Open Settings > Products & Pricing to see the catalog as one list.
Product groups
A group has a name, a description and an order. Customers see groups on the storefront home page and open one to see its products. A group page has its own address (/order/your-group).
Create groups for things customers think of as a family: "Shared Hosting", "VPS", "Email Hosting", "SSL Certificates".
With more than one language switched on, a group and every product have language tabs for the name, tagline and description. See Languages.
Create a product
- In Products & Pricing click Create a New Product.
- Pick a starting point (hosting, server, domain or other), then fill in the first step.
- Save. The product opens in the tabbed editor.
Product types
| Type | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Shared Hosting | cPanel, DirectAdmin, Plesk or Webuzo accounts |
| Reseller Hosting | Reseller accounts on the same panels |
| VPS Hosting | Hetzner Cloud, Proxmox VE or Virtualizor instances |
| Dedicated Hosting | Servers you set up yourself |
| Email Hosting | For example Namecrane Mail |
| SSL Certificate | Certificate products |
| Other | Anything else, including digital goods |
Plugins can add more types (the license and download plugins add their own).
The editor tabs
| Tab | What you set |
|---|---|
| Details | Product Type, Product Group, Product Name, Tagline, Short Description, Description, Product Color, and Welcome Email. |
| Pricing | One row per billing cycle with its Price, Setup fee and Allow in signup?, one tab per currency. See Pricing and billing cycles. |
| Module | The Server, Module and Package used to create the account, and the Auto Setup rule. |
| Configurable Options | Add-on choices the customer picks at checkout. See Configurable options. |
| Custom Fields | Extra questions asked at checkout and shown on the service. |
| Free Domain | Offer a free domain with the product: the payment terms and the eligible TLDs. |
| Upgrades | Which other products a customer can upgrade to. |
| Locations | The servers a customer can pick from when ordering, and whether each is active. A location sells the same billing cycles as the product: for each cycle with a price you can set a different price and setup fee at that location, or leave them empty to charge what the product charges. Adjust prices by adds or takes off a percentage for every cycle at that location. See Pricing and billing cycles. |
| Links | The Direct Order Link and Group Order Page for the product. |
| Other | Affiliate pay amount and other options. |
Auto Setup
On the Module tab choose when the service is created on the server:
- As soon as an order is placed
- As soon as the first payment is received (the safest default)
- When you manually accept a pending order
- Do not automatically setup this product (you create it by hand)
Each option makes the real server call at that exact moment. If a call fails, the reason is saved and the action appears under Pending Module Actions (see Provisioning).
Connecting a server and package
Add the server first (see Servers). On the product's Module tab pick the server, the module and a package. The package list is fetched live from the server, so the package that exists on the server is the one used.
Duplicate, disable, delete
A product can be duplicated to save time. Disable a product to hide it from the storefront without losing the services that already use it. A product that has services cannot be deleted.
Tips
- Create a test product at 1.00 and order it before you open the shop.
- Use clear plan names. The name is shown on invoices and in emails.
- Set a welcome email so customers get their login details on activation.
