Page Builder
Oct 21, 2026
The Page Builder plugin lets you build the pages of your public website (home, hosting plans, about, contact and more) without code. You arrange ready-made sections in a live editor. A page you publish is a normal page of your storefront: it has the same menu, footer, cart, language and currency switchers, and it is tracked like the rest of the store.
Install
- Open Plugins > Available, find Page Builder and click Install.
- Open Page Builder in the admin menu.
It needs WHBMP 2.20.0 or newer.
Build a page
- In Page Builder, type a page name and a slug / URL under Add New Page. The slug is the page's address, for example
hostingforhttps://example.com/hosting. The editor opens in a new tab. - Add sections from the library on the left: hero, features, pricing, comparison and counters, testimonials, FAQ, domain search, contact form and more. Drag sections to reorder them.
- Click a section to edit its text, images, links and colours on the right.
- Use Custom Code (HTML) for anything else, such as an embed or a badge from another service.
- Click Save Page, then Publish.
The storefront already has a menu and a footer (see Client Portal Menu and Footer Builder), so the builder has no header or footer sections.
A slug is one lower-case word, with hyphens if you like. You cannot use an address the site already uses, such as cart, order, domains, client, your admin path, a file or folder in the site's public folder, or a top-level CMS category.
CMS Articles sections
The CMS Articles sections (under Blog) show the latest published articles of your CMS on any page. Tick one or more CMS Categories (a category includes its sub-categories; none ticked shows every category). Choose what each card shows (image, heading, excerpt, or heading only), 1 to 4 columns, how many articles, the order, and whether to show the category name and date. New articles appear by themselves. The CMS plugin has to be active.
Pricing sections
A pricing section shows the plans of one of your Product Groups, with live prices in the visitor's currency. Choose the group in the section's settings. If you delete the group later, the section shows nothing until you choose another.
Preview, publish and the homepage
- A draft is not visible to visitors. Click Preview to see it on your storefront.
- Publish makes the page live at its address. Unpublish takes it down again.
- Set as homepage (on the page list) makes a published page the homepage of your storefront. Plans & Pricing stays available at
/plans. Remove as homepage brings the built-in homepage back. - Changing a slug moves the page to the new address.
Built-in pages
The top of the Page Builder list shows the storefront's own pages. They are always there, they cannot be deleted or renamed, and you click Edit to change them. A built-in page shows your changes once you publish it, and until then visitors see it as before.
| Page | What you can do |
|---|---|
| Homepage | A full page you design. It starts with a few sections you can change or remove. Once published it replaces the core homepage at your home address. |
Plans & Pricing (/plans) |
Add sections above and below the list of product groups. |
| Plan group and plan | Add sections above and below the plans and the order form. One design applies to every group and plan page. |
Domain search (/domains) |
Add sections above and below the live domain search. |
Software (/software) |
Add sections above and below the list of software. Only with the Sell License plugin. |
| Page not found (404) | A full page you design, shown when an address does not exist. It starts with a short message and a Back to Home button. While it is a draft, the standard message shows. Once published it replaces that message on the public website and in the client area, under the menu. The admin area keeps its own message with the side menu. |
On every page except the Homepage, the page's own content shows as a grey locked row in the editor. It stays where it is and cannot be removed; you drag sections above or below it.
Which page is shown at your home address, in this order:
- A page you chose with Set as homepage.
- The built-in Homepage, once published.
- The core homepage: a default homepage that comes with WHBMP (it needs no plugin), with a welcome banner, domain search and your product groups.
Plans & Pricing is always at /plans, and the link in the menu opens it.
Premade pages
Click Premade Pages to open a gallery of ready-made pages kept on the WHBMP store: homepages, web hosting, VPS, dedicated servers, domain registration, about us and contact us, each in several designs.
- Click Preview to see the whole page as it will look, in desktop, tablet and mobile sizes. Nothing is added to your site.
- Click Use this page, check the name and slug, and click Add as draft.
- The page opens in the editor. Change the text, choose a Product Group in the pricing section and publish.
Premade pages can bring new sections with them. They are added to your section library and work like any other section. A premade page never brings code. Importing needs a valid WHBMP licence, like installing a plugin.
The links on premade pages assume the usual addresses (/web-hosting, /vps-hosting, /dedicated-servers, /domains, /about-us, /contact-us). Use the same slugs, or edit the links.
Google tracking and affiliate links
Pages are part of the storefront, so they load the same Google Tag Manager container. There is nothing to set in the builder, and you do not need to publish again after saving the container ID. See Google Analytics and Tag Manager. Do not paste a second Google tag into a Custom Code (HTML) section: it would count visits twice.
Links with ?ref=CODE keep working on builder pages. See Affiliates.
Speed
The finished sections of a page are kept between visits and refreshed when you edit. Pricing sections are always up to date. Click Clear page cache to make every page render again.
Moving from the Website Builder
Page Builder replaces the former Website Builder plugin. Installing it moves your pages, sections and uploaded pictures across, keeps the plugin switched on and removes the old plugin. Pages that were published as static files are now served by the storefront, and their old /site/<slug> addresses redirect to the new ones. Header and footer sections in older pages no longer show, because the storefront has its own.
Good to know
- Images can be JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP or SVG. SVG files are cleaned of scripts and outside links when you upload them.
- The public demo does not allow publishing pages.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| The pricing section says no product group is selected | Open the section and choose a Product Group. |
| "This address is already used by the site" | Choose another slug. |
| The page shows an old version | Click Clear page cache, then hard refresh the browser (Ctrl+F5). |
| Premade Pages says it could not reach the store | Check that your server can reach whbmp.com and that your licence is active under Settings > License. |
| The page is not tracked | Check that Marketing Tags is active with a container ID saved. |
